Pre and Post Natal Pilates

My mission is to empower people of all ages and abilities to move with joy and without pain, whether recovering from injury, for general fitness or to ease the stresses and strains of everyday life. The benefits of regularly practicing Pilates include increased physiological strength and suppleness and improved posture and mental wellbeing – the sense of being truly at home in your own body.

I first discovered Pilates in 2006 after injuring my back and was immediately drawn to the supportive yet transformative nature of the discipline. As a result of wonderful teaching, my body was returned to good health, inspiring me to train with Polestar Pilates; after 600 hours of course work, student teaching hours, observation and self practice I qualified as a fully comprehensive studio instructor.

Spine care and menopause transition are areas of special interest. I am certified with the Menopause Movement and am a professional affiliate of the Menopause Society. I have studied with the Franklin Institute as a Pelvic Floor Fascia Trainer and am also a professional member of BackCare, the charity for supporting spine health. Additionally, I am registered with The Guild of Pregnancy and Postnatal Exercise as a pre and postnatal exercise and nutrition instructor.

Previously I worked for 20 years as a communications consultant and mentor in the visual arts, a role that honed my listening skills and taught me that no two people ever see things in exactly the same way. I use these skills, along with anatomical knowledge and teaching expertise to support clients overcome any barriers to exercise, striving for each to achieve positive and joyful movement every day.
